Ivy Road created the upcoming intimate Wanderstop Game, which Annapurna Interactive will release. It is directed by Davey Wreden, composed by C418, and co-written by Wreden and Karla Zimonja. It centers on Alta, a former warrior who works as a tea shop attendant and helps customers in an attempt to recuperate from the trauma she endured while fighting in an arena.
By 2015, C418 and Wreden each had video game concepts, and in 2017 the game’s development got underway. When Zimonja joined the development team, Wanderstop’s focus switched to the topic of trauma, even though Wreden’s original goal was to create a cozy game. He also decided to incorporate his feelings of burnout from creating The Stanley Parable and The Beginner’s Guide into the story. Together with Annapurna, Wreden, C418, and Zimonja co-founded the studio Ivy Road. In July 2021, Ivy Road and its inaugural match against Annapurna were originally announced. The title was formally unveiled in June 2024.

About Wanderstop Game
Wanderstop is a nice, story-based game about tea and change. In the game, you take on the role of Alta, a fallen warrior who runs a tea shop in a beautiful forest and serves patrons. Alta, meanwhile, is not interested in being here. Furthermore, if she succeeds, the tea store will only exist as a fleeting and agonizing memory. Wanderstop is a management routine for tea shops. The materials for tea are grown and harvested, then combined in a unique tea-making device. Talk to the numerous tourists who stop by the store along the way, get to know their tales, and prepare tea that suits them.
Gameplay and premise
After suffering multiple setbacks and a particularly devastating loss, Alta, the game’s heroine, is a former warrior who has been traumatized by battling in an arena. She believes her trauma will be resolved by working to run a tea shop. She becomes used to running the store in a forest, doing things like gathering and growing materials and combining them in a big flask machine, cleaning and decorating the store, conversing with clients, or simply relaxing on a seat.
Alta struggles to persuade herself that this stress-free lifestyle is beneficial to her while working to assist the shop’s owner. Throughout, she strives to enjoy her calm life despite her unsolved tragedy. But Alta can’t just go through her checklists quickly and make progress. The store discourages people who have come solely in the “pursuit of growth unchecked” and demands patience; she and her clients must find healing more difficult.
